Welcome to the Mocklershill Website

Mocklershill is based in the heart of the Golden Vale, in County Tipperary.

Mocklershill commenced business in 1978 when the initial Breeze Up Sale for 2 year olds was held. Since then Mocklershill has gone from strength to strength and is now one of the Premier Consignors of 2 year olds in Europe.

Mickey Browne, father of Willie and Michael, was an acclaimed National Hunt jockey during the 1940’s. In early 1950 he moved to Mocklershill, on the outskirts of the historic town of Cashel fulfilling his ambition of setting up a training establishement. He was renowned, not only for his knowledge of the bloodstock world, but also for his keen sense of humour. He was one of the first Irish Consignors to sell at Doncaster Bloodstock Sales. After a successful training career he set his sights on becoming a very successful Pinhooker. In due course his sons Willie and Michael joined him and were one of the first to Pinhook 2 years old Breeze Up horses in this part of the World.

Every Autumn Willie Browne travels extensively to all the International Yearling Sales in the USA and Europe. He has refined and perfected his father’s skill by thoroughly researching pedigrees, confirmation and he is readily acknowledged as a keen judge of bloodstock.

From humble beginnings Mocklershill has developed over the years into a successful Consignor of Group and Listed performers. Mocklershill is privlidged to have an excellent team who have helped to develop this business into what it is today.
